Preparing and qualifying combatant officers capable of leading their subunits during war and peace times under different psychological and physical circumstances and with different standards of morale, in addition to maintaining the highest level of combat capability of their units, with a scientific and cultural background that enables them to cope with the rapid development of military sciences.

 

The development of the Military Academy

 

The educational process in the military academy has passed through a number of stages of development as it firstly aimed at graduation infantry officers, and the study was mainly focused on basic military sciences.

 

Studying comprised three stages (sophomore- junior- senior).

 

After the war of 1967, the educational system developed to comprise five stages (basic- sophomore- junior general- junior specialized- senior) when corps specialization system was adopted by the academy.

 

After the war of 1973, the study developed to include a balanced curriculum of both military sciences and scientific basics in order to guarantee the graduation of officers with high standards of scientific and military efficiency and capability.

 

later, starting from 1989, the study developed to comprise four academic years (basic- sophomore- junior- senior) within three calendar years, including the basic military sciences, scientific basics, in addition to various practically applied activities like (rangers course- parachuting course- vehicle-driving course- outer units practical training- marching drills- terrain reconnaissance ).
