Establishment Of The Egyptian Fleet According to a decree issued by the Ottoman Sultan, Mohamed Ali Pasha laid the first foundation of the Egyptian Fleet which passed through three main phases:- |

manned by foreign crews. The Second Phase Constructing ships in British, French and Italian Shipyards. The Third Phase Alexandria Shipyard was completed by 1832 and A large number of warships and frigates was launched to Sea. |

| Mohamed
Ali also introduced the Administration of the Navy with
many departments under its authority, Afterwards the
Egyptian Fleet became the fourth naval power in the
Mediterranean. The graduates of the sea school with a
total number of 37 navy officers could build their career
under the British occupation and participated in training
and educating navy cadres who graduated and replaced the
British officers in the main navy offices of the Coast
Guard Department. Thanks to those graduates, the Egyptain
navy proceeded on the right track. The Egyptian government issued a decree to establish the Egyptian Navy under the official name of the Royal Navy. Admiral/ Mahmoud Hamza Pasha was appointed as the commamder of the Royal Navy in addition to his work as the Director General of the Harbors and Lighthouses Department on June 20th,1946 it is worth mentioning that. The Royal Navy officers and sailors who were working in the Coast Gaurd Department, formed the nucleus of the Navy Forces. The Royal Navy was first established with two ships(Princess Fawzia and Prince Farouk.) In 1947,the Egyptian government purchased the first navy units from the British navy. These units were eight small wooden mine sweepers in addition to three patrol boats (Matrouh-Nasr-EL-Saloum.) These units participated in World War II, Afterwards there was a need to purchase two frigates (Egypt-Sudan), equipped to work as anti-submarine ships. |

Academy in 1946 The first class graduated from the Naval Academy participated in the Palestine War in 1948. The ships crews graduated from the Sailing School (King Farouk School.)Later on, the navy procured modern British ships such as the frigates(Tarek -Damietta-Rosetta) and the destroyers (Mohammed Ali -Ibrahim.) |

Navy in the Armed Forces Joint Chief Of Staff was
organised into A:-Commander-in Chief of the Royal Navy and his assistants. B:-Chief of the Navy Administration . C:-Chief of the Navy Operations. D:-Chief of Provision and Supply. Admiral / Mohammed Badr Bey was appointed as the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Navy. |
| On Sep.18th,1948,the
missions of the Royal Navy were identified as follows Providing the navy of His Majesty with officers, engineers, NCOs and sailors. Providing the Coast Guard Department with officers,engineers and NCOs necessary to operate the navy units used in encountering smuggling operations. Providing the Harbors and Lighthouses Department with navy officers necessary to manage its navy section. Procuring the navy units required for the Coast Gaurd Department according to the needs and within budget approved. On Feb.22nd,1950,the name of the Royal Navy was changed into the Navy of His Majesty. Such a name was given to the navy units allocated to the King of Egypt that was changed into Yachts of His Majesty. The rest of the navy units were under the name of The Fleet and a decree was issued to reorganize the Fleet on Feb. 16th,1952. |

Of 1952 After the
Revolution of July 1952, the title the Commander-in-Chief
of the Navy of His Majesty changed into the Navy Chief of
Staff. Commodore /Mohammed Mahmoud Nashed was appointed
as the Navy Chief of Staff on Sep.9th,1952 and
the name of Navy of His Majesty was changed
into the Navy Forces. In Sep.1959,the General
