Improving & Upgrading The Navy Shipyard Through :

 Phase I
The establishment of a shiplift facility with a 5000 Ton capacity. The construction of such a facility enabled the Egyptian Navy to repair and maintain 90% of the Navy units instead of 60%.
President Mubarak inaugurated the shiplift facility on July 6th,1993.

Phase II
Increasing the shipyard capability & Quality of work by adding 8 new buildings equipped with the latest machinery and equipment.
Moreover 4 modern warehouses were added to the shipyard to increase the quality and efficiency of maintaining & repairing the shiplift in accordance with the American Navy standards. President Mubarak inaugurated this phase on July 13th 1997.

New Frigates Entered Into The Service Of The Egyptian Navy
The Egyptian Navy has newely acquired several navy units such as "Knox" and "Perry" Frigates capable of carrying anti-submarine Helicopters to increase the combating efficiency of the Naval Forces. as well it acquired mine hunters, patrol boats and hydrographic survey boats.
