In the Armament field: The AD forces started with big steps to modernize and upgrade its equipment and weapons systems to cope with modern air threats and adapt with modern technologies. The modernization features covers the following: Eastern weapons and systems: 1- Modernizing missile systems (SAM2, 3,
6) to cope with server jamming ---conditions and
the capability of engagement day and night. Western Weapons and systems: 1-Modifying Hawk system to phase three. 2-Mixing missiles (Sparrow) and artillery (35mm Caliber) in one system (Amoun System). 3-Upgrading Chaparral missile system with track stars radar to provide integrated reconnaissance radar system. 4-Production of Sinai-23 system in cooperation with the French side. 5-Co-production of TPS-63 radar system in cooperation with USA. In the training and educational field: In Air Defence College: Within the frame of preparing generation of officers capable of accepting modern technologies, the modernization of the AD college features includes: 1- Continuing upgrading of engineering
subjects and electronic circuits and ---mathematical
problems also in electronic designs and drawings. In the ADI and Basic training centers: 1- Modernizing teaching methodology to
depend on discussion besides lectures. This in addition to modernizing
living quarters. The Logistic development in the Air
Defence Forces covers all logistics concerns of the
combatant and enhancing his living conditions since he
is the corner stone of the battle. |
